Demetrio Cardona-Maguigad

Strategist and educator in the areas of communication, design, and digital technologies.

As the director of design strategy at LimeRed Studio, I lead co-creative and process-driven methods between clients and design teams to uncover insights and align business goals toward innovative design solutions.

I spend time each month mentoring and coaching startups and social entrepreneurs at various innovation and incubators spaces including 1871 and 2112 in Chicago, advocating for human-centered design approaches toward problem solving and business success.

As an adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago, I instruct and guide the next generation of communication experts on social and digital strategies while also providing support for curriculum research and design. I am also an adjunct instructor for the Nonprofit Technology Network’s Certification Core program teaching the Digital Strategies course.

I am a passionate creator and producer with a focus on cultural diversity, social justice, and community development. I’ve directed and produced award winning video documentaries, developed and designed interactive community programs, and have written and designed sound scores for several community theater projects in Chicago.

I am the former host and executive producer for Chicago is the World, a weekly on-air radio program curating and featuring music, voices and stories from around the globe.I am also proud to serve as a member of the board of directors at the Chicago Cultural Alliance – a consortium of Chicago-area ethnic museums, cultural centers and historical societies promoting cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration.
