Do It Better: Our business practices named Best for the World
We’re excited to share that today LimeRed was included on B Lab’s Best for the World list for the second year in a row. We were recognized for our innovative and inclusive governance structure. B Lab is a nonprofit which serves a global movement of people using business as a force for good.
LimeRed was recognized in this category as a result of having earned a governance score in the top 10 percent of more than 2,400 Certified B Corporations on the B Impact Assessment.??The governance portion of the B Impact Assessment evaluates a companys overall mission, ethics, accountability and transparency.
We join other notable 2018 Best for the World Honorees all over the world, including: Patagonia; King Arthur Flour Company; Green Mountain Power; and the United Kingdoms Charity Bank. Fifty-two countries are represented on the list, including Denmark, India, South Africa and Taiwan.
When Emliy started LimeRed??14 years ago, she knew she wanted to do business in a better way. This was demonstrated in our strong social mission – we only work with individuals or organizations that have a positive social impact.??And Emily developed a governance structure that supported her vision of being accountable to ourselves, our clients, and ultimately, the planet.
LimeRed shows accountability to ourselves by:
1. Building a strong culture of trust
LimeRed fosters a work culture where open communication is valued. Employees have full visibility into the companys financial information and are encouraged to provide feedback to the leadership team.
2. Prioritizing collaboration
LimeReds company policies and benefits were developed collaboratively with employees and staff. Staff was asked what we felt was important and as a result, we established benefits??including unlimited vacation time and a family-friendly workplace.
