What happens when you fall out of love with your Content Management System? How do you break up and move on? Like any break up, it will probably be painful and cost you money, but maybe youll be happier when its gone and you can move onto bigger and better things. Besides, your mom didnt like Wordpress anyway.
We were recently tasked with developing a highly custom online forum. It would be a place where people would spontaneously create content and commentary about articles elsewhere on the site. Our would supply big topic buckets and the audience would fill them. Our client also wanted to include a low paywall for anyone wanting to comment or create.
Here at LimeRed Studio, we love food and we love eating out and trying new things! But what interests us even more is finding inspiration for our design work with nonprofits. So while we think about and savor new foods, we also think about peoples behaviors and what motivates them to choose to engage or interact and how it is influenced by the presentation of information and visual elements.
I think this is one of the reasons businesses and nonprofits get scared about doing social media. Since social media is constantly changing, it’s easy to get floored by a new piece of information suddenly, you’re doing Twitter wrong! You’re on an outdated platform! You’re supposed to be posting twice as much as you are! Back away, don’t touch it!
We all just simply love music at Lime Red.
Earlier this week we met as a whole team to look at the next steps in our L.A.B. process and finalize some tasks so we could get started. At least thats why I thought we were meeting.
Guys, we got a little ahead of ourselves already in our self examination in our consulting practice, L.A.B. When we first took a look under the hood of the business at Lime Red, it was clear that we had solid goals and metrics for the year. But what wasnt clear was how do we go about aligning them so we know where to begin, what tasks are required, who owns them and, and how to execute. More importantly, how would we apply our social impact principles as an agile business?
Like a lot of people, especially people who care about social media, online privacy, and design, I was briefly fascinated by ello.co back in October, 2014. Ello swept through the online world, billed as a Facebook replacement with clean design, no ads and no content gathering.
Tumblr takes a slower, more leisurely pace than Twitters hyper-immediate microbites of information, and unlike Facebook, you dont have to watch your second cousin and that guy you sort of knew in middle school bicker about Hillary Clinton.
