One tree Planted
REPLANT TREES

LimeRed is a proud business partner of One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier climate, protecting biodiversity, and helping reforest our planet.

For every dollar donated, one tree gets planted. Through 2020, we will be donating 10% of our revenue from all Virtual Brand Strategy Workshops to help replant trees. That means, if you book any of our seven workshops, you’ll plant 50 trees and be part of the One Tree Planted goal to replant 6 million trees in Australia in 2020. Book a workshop with our team and elevate your impact in more ways than one.

Naming Foundations Workshop

2. Naming Part One: Foundations Workshop

Step one for naming a product or organization.

Naming is not just a creative process it’s also a political one. Naming is the most fun and interesting work we do, and it’s also the hardest. How do you get stakeholders with different ideas and perspectives to agree on a name they feel proud of and also works in the market? How do you develop a process that builds consensus and taps into the essence of an identity? How do you name with intention and meaning?

Naming is difficult work when you want to stand out, tell a story, and be inclusive, so we split this process into two sessions: 1. Naming Foundations and 2. Naming Ideation. When every idea is on the table, making decisions gets harder, so this first workshop is focused on drawing lines around what this name needs to be, say, and do.

In this interactive session, we explore what makes a name not only good but great. Your team will work together to develop criteria for what this name needs to be, so when it comes time to ideate, we have a starting place. This is all consensus-driven, so your team will work better together.

OBJECTIVES

  • Understand why some names work and others don’t
  • Define the process for creative thinking and decision making
  • Develop criteria for your name

REQUIREMENTS

  • Any size team (or individual) from your organization
  • Online access through a desktop/laptop web browser virtual whiteboard
  • Access to a phone or computer microphone to participate in the session

This session is led by LimeRed’s Emily Lonigro or Demetrio Cardona-Maguigad — both of whom have led naming processes for centers, programs, companies, and products.

Step two for generating ideas for naming with a creative and intentional approach

This workshop provides creative activities to help your team generate ideas for your name. It is a highly interactive ideation session in which participants work together and separately with new ways of thinking. We will explore metaphor, symbolism, meaning, language, and many other facets of naming to generate options for your name. It is a playful yet critical exploration for naming ideas that you and your organization can take with you for further exploration. We might not get to a final name in this workshop, but will create consensus-driven direction for your name and lots of ideas. This workshop can also be repeated on your own until you focus in on the best ideas for a name.

We highly recommend that you complete the Naming Foundations Workshop before selecting this workshop.
